According to some researchers, constant exposure of children to violent content on television, such as shooting, bombings etc., desensitizes them and hampers their emotional development. It is also stated that such exposure may possibly influence them to use it as a normal response when faced with stressful situations. It is also suggested that continuous exposure to violence and violent images, is likely to evoke feelings of fear, anxiety and trauma among children thus resulting in sleeplessness.
